6-Volt Cars

Fitzback Garage has gained expertise in DC electricity over time, especially for cars equipped with the 6-Volt system. Well aware of the problems related to the 6-Volt circuit of vintage cars, whether it is for hot or cold start-up difficulties, the low intensity of the headlights or the misfires of the engine, our know-how will allow you to appreciate your old car in 6 volts, as originally.

The cars, until 1954, were manufactured with a 6-Volt electrical circuit by most manufacturers. The cars of the time worked very well with the circuit 6 volts, even in the winter. Now they have aged and need, for some of them, some small repairs to work as in their early years.

The 6-Volt system has disappeared mainly because of the addition of electrical equipment that has become more heavy. The 6-Volt charging system could no longer meet the growing demand for new equipment. With the 12-Volt system, manufacturers were able to reduce the size of some electric motors and wiring and achieve some savings. In addition, it allowed them to increase the voltage to the spark plugs at the same time as the increase in compression rates of newborn V8.

Fitzback Garage has developed four products specifically designed for your 6-Volt vehicle: an smart charger, an engine temperature control module, a trailer light module and a module for LED turn signals.
